“The Devil’s Double” was a thrill ride!…..no it wasn’t, the trailer just makes you think that. The trailer friggin blew me away, I thought I was going to see some real crazy, action, drama, killing, fucked up shit. It was not like that at all, well not entirely, like I’d hoped.

One: Didn’t even know the film was about Saddam Hussein’s son, or anything territorial like that. I saw, in the trailer, that it was based off true events, but I didn’t think “terrorist” true. Like anyone else, I’m thinking, “Okay this is going to be some real crazy shit. Like drugs, and trafficking, and some “Bad Boys”, “Swat”, Michael Bay meets Ripley Scott shit,” but no.

Two: I can’t even explain it thoroughly because it was so opposite of what I expectedly, I mean…..pssff, it’s my fault I should have researched it more then I wouldn’t have been so disappointed. *I thought it would be some drug Kingpin gangster shit. If it was trying to be, it must have been some foreign version because I didn’t catch that.*

Don’t get me wrong, it was a good film: well shot, very well acted, great special effects, camera tricks, action shots. It’s just the story I can’t get over. The overall plot was not what I thought, and that took me aback.
Now that I got that off my chest….Dominic Cooper. GORGEOUS!!!! I fell in love after I saw this. You should know, I fall in love with actors temporarily. I fell in love with him after I saw this and that love lasted for 32 hours. Yeah, I’m like that, I watch a lot of shit, so my love travels. Dominic’s acting was so on point! Having to play a real life character is hard enough but having to play another one who is a completely different person, who has completely different facial expressions and a high-pitched voice, with only having a similar look to the first character and killing it is genius to me. He is a talented artist, and he deserves some rec for that. Big roles in his future, I believe.
Overall though, aside from all that complaining LOL: Good film, really good film. I didn’t really get anything from it afterwards, except for the love of Dominic. I didn’t care for the story so, all I can go on is how it looked, and it looked great. I’ll say this: Saddam Hussein and his whole family were some fucked up individuals. I thought it was just him, so it turns out I did learn something.
